Dr. Elaina Montague, PhD, graduated from the UNL Clinical Psychology Training Program after completing internship at the University of California San Diego/VA San Diego Clinical Psychology Pre-Doctoral Internship Consortium in 2019. Dr. Montague is a clinically-oriented researcher and currently serves as a co-Principal Investigator and Program Director of a SAMHSA-funded stepped care multidisciplinary treatment team for teens and young adults ages 12-25 at clinical high risk for psychosis, called SWAY (Supporting Wellness for Adolescents & Young Adults).

Dr. Montague's research focuses on several key areas: implementation science, qualitative methods, early intervention in psychosis and psychosis risk, the application of evidence-based care in community settings, community-based participatory action research, and studies on racial equity and shared decision-making in first episode psychosis programs.

After completing her post-doctoral research fellowship at Zucker Hillside Hospital in 2020, Dr. Montague joined the technical assistance and training team at OnTrack Central, where she trained 25 coordinated specialty care teams (CSC) in New York State and other teams across the country on CSC model practices. She also worked as a project manager on multiple grants, including the OnTrackNY Learning Health System’s R01, as part of the NIMH Early Psychosis Intervention Network (EPINET) initiative.

In addition to managing SWAY, Dr. Montague is also a staff Psychologist at the Early Treatment Program at Zucker Hillside Hospital and runs a small private practice. Additionally, she works as an independent contractor, providing consulting on early intervention services for psychosis, qualitative and co-creation methods, and community outreach.
